Learning To Throw - Ceramics
The second part of our ceramics project focuses primarily on learning to throw a bowl. We were given a demonstration and then prepared to throw one ourselves. I loved working with clay on the wheel and learning the difference between glazes and slips.

Finishing Movement and Motion Project
Though I am still focusing primarily on the tracks left behind to prove the movement of the dogs occurred I have expanded the materials I was using. Plaster I've found has been useful in showing the erratic and uncoordinated movement of a young dog (which is what I have been attempting to portray). I also used cloth and tracing paper in an attempt to acheive different results, however the cloth was least effective.
I quite like the following images. They show a 3D piece which became a 2D piece. The basic concept behind it was that the movement of the dog would build and build and one tends to focus on that, but once you take that away the proof of movement and the tracks beneath are obvious and perhaps even more interesting to look at. I built the piece 3 dimensionally using plaster, card, wire, ink, paint, layering it until it was undenfinable. I then took the "movement" (the 3D) away and was left with just the tracks.
