William Kentridge was recommended to me and I have to say I love his work. I love the idea of creating movement from a still image and I love his use of charcoal, it being one of my favourite materials. I've taken his concept and decided to experiment using images of my own, primarily canine ones.
Looking at Muybridge's and Kentridge's work I am interested in knowing how an animation based on a 3D piece would turn out. I have been looking primarily at the work of Tim Burton for the contextual side of this experiment, namely the Nightmare Before Christmas and the Corpse Bride.
